The Governing Body of Hillview Primary School are looking to appoint a Clerk to the Governors.
We are looking for someone who has excellent administrative skills as they are required to organise meetings, prepare agendas and provide advice to the Governing Body ensuring that Governor’s time is used to benefit the pupils and school effectively. You should be able to manage information and are required to minute Full Governing Body Meetings and Committee and Special Meetings, recording the process outcomes of collective decision-making and challenge. You would be responsible for maintaining governing body records and need the ability to find the information governors require to enable them to make informed decisions.
The Clerk advises the governing body on procedural matters therefore an awareness of sources of expert advice and information is an important part of this role to ensure that the legal requirements for the Governing Body are met.
The role is for 48 hours per year with Full Governing Body meetings 6 times per year starting at 5.00pm, and Resources meetings 6 times per year to take minutes and undertake all clerical work on behalf of the Governing Body. The Clerk acts as the official channel of communication to and from
the Governing Body and enables the Governing Body to function smoothly and efficiently.
