Sarah Wood – Lead – Early Years Educator: I’m Sarah Wood and I’ve been working at Hillview Early Years since October 2014. I started working in Early Years in 2008 after having my own two children and becoming the Chair of the local playgroup and felt that working with children was the career path I wanted to pursue.I am qualified level 3 in Children, learning and Paediatric First Aid and have trained as a Petit Acting Academy Tutor, teaching storytelling and role play with pre-school children. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, reading and being creative with stamps and ink in my craft room.
Gemma May – Early Years Educator : My name is Gemma I am an early years educator, I have a beautiful young daughter who attended HEY for 2 years, and she loved every minute and really thrived and is continuing to thrive at hillview primary school. Since having my daughter I realised working with children was something I really wanted to pursue so I am over the moon to have this opportunity. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on long walks and baking and decorating cakes.
Louise Waugh – Early Years Educator :I’m Louise and I have been working at HEY since January 2018. I completed my BTEC National Diploma in Early Years in 2006 in Manchester before relocating to this part of the world. I completed one year at Oxford Brookes in Early Childhood Studies whilst working within a Montessori setting. I have three beautiful young boys along with my partner Sean. Since watching my son blossom at HEY and continuing to at Hillview Primary School I myself am thoroughly enjoying being part of the HEY team and juggling busy family / working life with my young family. I love to be outdoors with my family, walking, spending time with family and friends.
Emily Ellis – Early Years Educator (maternity leave) :I’m Emily and I started working at Hillview Early Years in September 2018. I achieved my Early Years Teacher Status and Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years in 2017 whilst working within a former Children’s Centre pre-school. My desire to work with young children stems from seeing my son develop through his Early Years, of which he spent his pre-school year happily at HEY. I have two children, a boy and a girl (7 and 3 years old), who keep me busy on family outings with my husband and extended family who all live locally. Any spare time I have is spent being a Zumba Instructor or going to Zumba classes and reading in between.
Carrie Cooke – Bank Staff : I am Carrie Cooke, I am bank staff at Hillview Early Years. I have worked in early years for the past five years. I have three children, two that currently attend Hillview Primary School and my youngest will start Pre-School in September. I adore working with the children in HEY. Watching them grow in independence on their journey to starting school is something I feel honoured to be part of. I love all things sensory and messy play, you can often find me making a mess with lots of paint and glitter! In my spare time I enjoy swimming with my children and walks with our Golden Retriever Betty.
Nicola Hunter – Early Years Educator
Hi, I’m Nicola. I have my Diploma in Childcare (N.N.E.B) which I received in 1998. I have been working at HEY since May 2019, which I thoroughly enjoy. I live with by 2 beautiful boys aged 15 and 6, my husband Alan and my amazing 19 year old stepson. Both of my boys have attended the school with my youngest starting his education at HEY which he loved and thrived in so much.
I really enjoy being part of this wonderful HEY team, working with lovely, caring. like minded people who all work with the best for every child is so uplifting. When I’m not working and juggling a houseful of boys, I enjoy swimming, reading and spending quality time with family and friends.
