Sue Winters – Early Years Educator (Manager)

BA Early Childhood Studies

Early Years Professional  Status

Designated Safeguard Lead

I have worked in Education primarily Early Years for the last twenty years following voluntary redundancy from the Gas industry.  I had a young family and this gave me the opportunity to change direction and retrain in a field that complimented raising a family.Over the years I have continued my studies whilst working as a playleader in a community playgroup and then in a school as a TA in Reception, Y1 and Y2 before returning to setting up and running a Nursery class in a school as Early Years is where my passion lies. In 2013 I completed my degree in Early Childhood Studies and Early Years Professional Status.I joined HEY in April 2015 following working for a year in a Children’s Centre as a senior Early Years Professional.  My young family – 3 girls (24, 22, and 19) and 1 boy (21) are now grown up but my passion for Early Years continues, supporting the youngest members of our society to build solid foundation to access and explore education to prepare them for their futures in this ever changing world we live in.  I firmly believe in the importance of ensuring all young children have access to the best possible start as they move into the world of education.

Outside of HEY I enjoy meeting up with friends, swimming, and yoga (great for clearing the mind!)  and going to the theatre.  I have recently joined a book club in an attempt to read more than a couple of books a year ( holiday reading) , it’s also a great way of catching up with friends  I rarely get to see in the busy world we live in!

Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years

Early Years Teacher Status

I’m Emily and I started working at Hillview Early Years in September 2018.  I achieved my Early Years Teacher Status and Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years in 2017 whilst working within a former Children’s Centre pre-school.  My desire to work with young children stems from seeing my son develop through his Early Years, of which he spent his pre-school year happily at HEY. I have two children, a boy and a girl (7 and 3 years old), who keep me busy on family outings with my husband and extended family who all live locally.  Any spare time I have is spent being a Zumba Instructor or going to Zumba classes and reading in between.
